Sperzel®'s feature a 12:1 gear ratio and sealed gears for maintenance-free lubrication. Threaded bushings and a rear pin allow installation without screws. Sperzel® tuning machines come with graduated posts to assist in eliminating the need for string trees by changing downward angle of the string after it passes through the nut.
